Swartland Marras Chenin Blanc White Wine Bottles 6 X 750ml

Picked by hand from vines on mature decomposed granite and schist soils. The grapes for the chenin were chilled overnight, destemmed and crushed the next morning. After four hours of waiting, there was skin contact. The wine has been partially fermented by nature in unison with barrels and stainless steel. Aged on the lees for six months, this is an example of winemaking craftsmanship at its finest.

Description

The Swartland is certainly the new chenin blanc hot spot in the country and this thought-provoking wine is right up there with the best. It has quince, pear and baking spice on the nose and tastes of fresh juicy pear on the palate.

The finish is clean and crisp with a flinty minerality and a hint of apricot on the refreshing aftertaste. Delicious on its own it is also an excellent partner for roast chicken, turkey or pork.
